Free Pint Competitive Intelligence Exchange
Gathering, interpreting, communicating and using competitor intelligence
|
|
Finding information on competitors is becoming an important part of the information professional's job. Much information can be found by using the Internet and online databases. However competent CI analysts know that they need to look beyond such sources. This session looked at ways of finding information on competitors, what to look for and how to communicate it to decision makers.
The seminar leader was Arthur Weiss, Managing Partner of AWARE.
AWARE are a major UK based competitive intelligence consultancy, founded in 1995. The seminar leader, Arthur Weiss, has almost 15 years experience in CI and has lectured on CI in the UK, US, Europe and elsewhere as well as publishing papers and articles (including for FreePint) on Competitive Intelligence and marketing related topics.
Delegates were invited to share their experiences on what has worked for them, and what hasn't. They were encouraged to relate any ethical issues faced as well as discuss problems in obtaining information in order to find out how other delegates have coped with, and resolved, similar situations.
Attendance was on a first-come first-served basis. Owing to the nature
of this exchange event, some delegates were concerned about sharing
information with competitors. We tried to ensure that participants were
not from the same industry, so participants could include their industry and the
names of any companies that you do not want to share information with, in
the 'Additional Message' box on the form below. Free Pint guarantees the
confidentiality of any such information provided.
