I've followed the topics on SMS, but I'm looking for something slightly different. I work at a University and I'd like to be able to send bulk SMS updates on courses changes/assigments etc to students who register to receive them via our website. Preferably, I'd like other staff to be able to do this as well. Is it possible to do this for free with no advertisements?

Given that the percentage of students with mobiles is far higher than those with PC's, I'm surprised that more Universities aren't looking into this as a communication option.
