This is as of writing a copy of a letter sent to
enquiries.em@hmce.gsi.gov.uk
This was sent in May with still no response.
Any help from FP readers ??

Whilst on vacation in the UK I rented a motor vehicle from a National Company.
There was a daily charge of 95p per day to cover the Road Fund Tax liability.
The final invoice contained a VAT levy on the RFT for the total accumulated days of hire.
My questions are:
(1) Is the RFT recovery fee legal ??
(2) If the answer to the above is Yes then is levy of VAT on this charge legal ???
The amount concerned is small but I am interested as a matter of principle seeing as the RFT is a UK Govt Tax.
