I have been working in business information for a healthcare company for six years now and although I have a good grasp of researching and sourcing information, I now want to expand my background knowledge about how business and companies work e.g. stock market workings, the mechanism of mergers & acquisitions, analysis of companies and markets etc.

I am looking for a course/courses which can offer this in either a series of short courses on different topics or perhaps distance learning.

This is proving to be much harder than I first thought!

I am not looking for the commitment of something like an MBA (many of which are much too management orientated for my needs) - most University business school courses are also much too management-based. At the other extreme, the likes of TFPL, Aslib etc offer basic courses on searching and sources and understanding company accounts, which I have already attended. I have also investigated Dun & Bradstreet courses which are too credit and debt collection based!

There doesn't seem to be anything in between - Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
Many thanks
