After many years of managing journal subscriptions with a number of cards and numerous lever arch files, we are looking in to automating the procedure. There are many options open to us such as designing our own Access database, buying a serials module "off the shelf", or to simply put it all onto an Excel spreadsheet.

Would be interesting to know if other Freepinters have gone through this process. We are a small commercial library. We currently take about 120 journal titles; the majority through a subscription agent, the rest direct with the publisher.

Would be interested in what route you took. Did you go with one of the many companies who supply library amangement systems? Did you find a very useful Access template hidden away in the depths of the web?

Cheers! :o)
