 Linking Ward data to Postcodes

I'm currently working on a donor identification project that will involve linking data on local authority ward to the postcodes of donors.

I have some awareness of the ONS SNAC and this is an extract from their site

www.http://www.statistics.gov.uk/nsbase/methods_quality/geography/snac.asp

The Standard Names and Codes database (SNAC) provides standard geographic names and codes for all administrative areas in the United Kingdom down to electoral ward/division level and for all UK parliamentary areas. SNAC provides hierarchical links between the areas, and also links different names and codes used by Department of Health (DH), Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) and Office for National statistics (ONS).

SNAC contains data relating to current statutory administrative areas as at December 1999 and parliamentary areas existing in the United Kingdom as at 31 December 1997.

SNAC was produced in August 2000 using Microsoft Access software and has the option to download data as Microsoft Excel files. Users will need MS-Access 97/2000...

Can anyone who has used this tool or anything similar offer advice/comments.

Thanks
