All right, here is another potential can of worms! I have children whose ages spread from 17 to 33 (the biggest gap is 12 years). They all SEEM to be of the same generation - except when I suggest that the younger ones shouldn't do something and that their older siblings didn't do it at that age! (In these situations I get the time-worn reply: "Yes, well times have changed since THEN!")

So, the question is: what exactly is 'a generation' in terms of years?
