Is there a database which describes local conditions in countries around the world ? I mean, the sort of notes needed by people who are thinking of looking for work abroad - not just the sort of climate/trade stuff I can find in the CIA world Fact Book or the FCO. Sort of information I need to find: cost of living, local customs ( whether visitors can drink alcohol, if women can drive cars or if they suffer any other restrictions etc) goods available in the shops, sort of accommodation available, transport, cost of running cars, food, entertainments available/culture/arts/music, etc, safety and security on the streets, levels of crime, - just the sort of information you'd need to know about a country before deciding whether to apply for a job there.
