Every so often a friend of mine emails me a picture taken with a digital camera that she has saved as, and sent as a jpeg. By the time it gets to me it has turned into a .dat file & I can't open it. I wonder if it is because she has an iMac & I have a PC (Windows 98) but this never used to occur until recently.

Can anyone help, they are very scenic pictures of Orkney!
