Biz/Ed claims to be essentially for students and teachers of business and economics and related subjects. But business and economics professionals should find Biz/Ed to be of great benefit too. Often the best way to answer a query using the Web is to look for a relevant education site. This one has excellent materials and as I looked through it I was struck by how many questions that arise in the Free Pint Bar could be answered here.

Take, for example, their Internet Catalogue. Heading for business ethics, in the general business section, I get a substantial list of relevant sites and related sections. I can either get a quick description of the site (one hundred words or so) along with relevant keywords, or I can go straight to the site. Also, I can sort these business ethics sites by alphabetical order or into resource type. The types include articles, collections, bibliographies, company Web sites, educational, government, resource guides, etc. I find this to be most intuitive and helpful.

The Learning Materials section is divided up into different subjects and student levels (aged 16+, Advanced), etc. It contains subsections on MBA learning materials, International Baccalaureate and various other useful links, tools and lists for students and teachers.

I suggest you take a look at the other sections as it would take me far too long to describe what they contain. As well as sources of economic and business data, you'll find teaching materials, online tutorials, a newsfeed, a UK business and management course directory, a glossary and a guide to free data on the Web. You can also search the whole site or just the section of your choice.

The only negative comment I would have is that there is no brief and succinct description of what you can find on Biz/Ed. You have to look around a lot. That's great if you have time but some people may get impatient and dismiss the site and this would be a shame. Having said that, the help section is very well developed and it should be the first place you visit. It will tell you all you want to know about each part of the site.

Cheers
Simon
