Subject: Re Damian's query

Hi,

You answered a query for Damian on CDRW awhile back. I'm not assuming you're a TSR, but you might hear me out a bit.

Got this Smart & Friendly 426 (Yamaha mfgr.), ran it on both my PC & Mac using Easy CD Creator--the basic Adaptec s'ware circa 1998. The drive has a lot of life left in it; otherwise, I have to admit $700 was too much to pay for the under-50 CDs I've made.

As I abandoned one OS generation after another, I found I could no longer use the drive.

Fast forward. It seems the recently purchased Roxio 5 Basic package should let me run this under XP, or at least under Me. The Roxio Home Page (as I read it) explained the 426 was supported--tho maybe under the Platinum version only.

I don't qualify for any Roxio tech support on "Basic". Do you have some thoughts for me?

Many thanks!!

Steve in Spokane
