I am researching a short paper for a colleague on the pros and cons of different thesauri, particularly:
Functional vs subject-based thesauri
"Computer generated" vs "human generated" thesauri (controlled vs uncontrolled terms)
I am also trying to obtain information on the different types of thesauri, the technology used to develop thesauri (and bleeding edge directions in thesaurus development) as well as information retrieval success rates for different thesauri.
I am currently investigating the web sites of the numerous relevant societies and government bodies around the world, as well as searching through some of the literature, but I thought that some of my esteemed Freepint colleagues may be able to suggest a few ideas????
These are my bookmarks on thesauri, sorry I didn't have time to include annotations but they're all quite good!
