I am looking for a replacement for the Personal Alta Vista search engine for use on our lap tops. This was a powerful (free) tool that is now unavailable. ISYS and Enfish are possible replacements at a cost. Has anyone got experience of these or alternatives?

The ideal solution would use an index file built in idle time with appropriate stop words, it would have some ranking capability and would highlight words within a view of the document (like google or Adobe catalog. It would obviously handle all file formats and delve into outlook.

Tall order . . . . or market opportunity?
