Some subjects are really big on the Web and economics has got to be one of them. There's so much stuff that one needs a good guide to the available material. The World Wide Web Virtual Library has many good subject guides and WebEc is the economics section.
It's simple enough to use, with a list of the major headings to browse through on the left hand side. There are general resources, education and teaching resources, micro and macro, and various economics subjects, such as financial, labour, law, agriculture, history, etc.
Click on one of the subjects and you get a further list of the types of resource indexed for that section. For example, under the general section there are guides, collections, institutions, journals, economists, jobs sites and the like.
For ease of navigation there is also a search box and a no frames version of the site, which some people prefer. You can also search by resource category. WebEc, created and maintained by Lauri Saarinen, is a superb piece of work and a great boon to economists.
Regards
Simon
