Help! I’ve just lost all my e-mails. Does anyone have a solution?
The situation is this. I use a Mac (O/S 9.2), with Outlook Express version 5 and Internet Explorer 5. Today I was surfing the net, visited a website, and clicked on the site’s Contact button, which automatically opened Outlook Express. However, for some reason a new ‘first run’ version of Outlook Express launched, minus all my previous e-mails, Sig files, Contacts etc. It’s as if a totally new version of the program has been opened, overwriting the previous one with my information on (my e-mail address and ISP details are the same though).
I now can’t get back the previous e-mails etc. I’ve tried loading a back-up version of Outlook Express 5, but that doesn’t restore the old e-mails.
Does anyone know how to find the missing e-mails etc., and restore the Contacts and Sig files I’d set up? Also is there any way I can prevent this from happening again, perhaps by backing up the e-mails etc. properly?
Thanks for the advice Stuart, especially with regard to backing up and importing messages, addressbook details etc.
I’ve now sussed what ...
