 Occupations of Engineering Graduates

I am looking for statistics on the occupations of engineering graduates and post graduates, for example how many go into professional engineering jobs, how many into business or accounting etc? I would like data for the UK, preferably with a time series to show trends over time. If anyone knows of such data for other countries however, particularly European and Asian countries, I would be interested in this as well.

I have found some excellent data for the US on the National Science Foundation website. Their publication “Science and Engineering Indicators”, April 2002 contains a table, (Table 3.6), giving details of occupations of engineers by degree subject for 1999 http://www.nsf.gov/sbe/srs/seind02/pdfstart.htm The Engineering Council have done some excellent work on this, reported in their Digest of Engineering Statistics, but the Standard Industry Classification they use is too general, for example “Electricity, gas and water supply” will include many non-engineering jobs.

If you are able to help with this I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks
