 Toshiba Tekbright 700P monitor

I have a secondhand Toshiba Tekbright 700P monitor, sans manual.

I'm not sure, but it seems to have built-in speakers (judging by the grilles at the left and right sides). There are also two audio jacks on the left-hand side. So far, I've not been able to find out how to get any sound out of it (if, indeed, that is possible).

There's no useful information that I can find on the Toshiba website, and fiddling with my sound settings in Windows 98se has given me no joy. Plugging my external speakers into either of the jacks does not seem to do anything . . .

Any information or advice would be appreciated.
