Hi All
I have searched search engines, reference tools and poetry resources for this and can't find it anywhere. It was given to me on a piece of paper about 12 years ago and I've copied it out verbatim, though I think the punctuation is a bit off:
I fret with trifles, uselessly discuss
Each truthless rumour of the world's affray;
Make furious plans of no importance; fuss
About the least disturbance of my day.
I want, appreciation. I demand,
Unfettered passage to my will. I grow,
To others' loss, and climb, until I stand
On pinnacles of self-engendered woe.
When Truth is enemy to self I lie;
Unless for profit why should I be kind?
Does anyone recognise it, know the author, title, etc?
