I'm not really sure if this is the right thing to call it, but I've been given the task of taking a department of our company and looking at how it uses IT and IS, and looking for improvements such as centralising systems, streamlining manual processes, checking that they have appropriate IT security / back ups etc etc. I'm not really sure where to start so has anybody here done this kind of thing before and how did you go about it? What's the right technical term to use?
Any comments appreciated!!
