Quiet places to work in london

I need to spend a full day - ideally 8am to 8pm - in a quiet central london location, writing a pretty intensive document. I can't use the office because of distractions, and I can't work at home cos of my little 5 month old.

I just need a powerpoint for my laptop. Wifi a bonus. Would rather not pay, but if it's worth it, I will.

I thought of the British Library, but not sure I can just turn up and use the facilities. Or Royal Festival Hall Foyer - but it can get noisy. But what about other libraries, or private clubs that offer day membership?

Anyone have any suggestions?
