 Firewalls

I'm just about to go over to home working for part of the week and have installed a broad band connection. Previously, I've been on a LAN, defended by the system filters and a whole computing department.

I'm looking for some advice on firewalls; what would people recommend, how necessary are they; do they give real protection; what problems have people encountered, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jim Roberts
