 Work environment of Information Science/Management

Please can someone inform me what the work environment is like? For example, marketing is seen as having a lively and young atmosphere. I'm applying for graduate library trainee posts & I put on my c.v. that I'm lively in my personal profile(which is a natural quality of mine). However, I was told by a careers adviser that this trait, might cause my application to be rejected (which I have had quite a lot of).

Also are there many young people going into the profession. Why have CILIP tried so hard to modernise their advertising literature? Does the profession have a reputation of being staid?
