New companies from old

I've been try and find UK companies which have recently been formed by splitting from larger organisations - perhaps by management buyouts, private equity takeovers, or companies simply selling particular departments or subsidiaries.
This would mainly be in the pharma/chemical/materials science sectors.
I have no idea where to start, or if this kind of information is available, so any help would be very gratefully received.
