I need to develop a “document database” containing several hundred contracts scanned into PDF files. I’d like to capture basic indexing information – name, contract type (lease, vendor, etc), start date, end date, “action required” dates, etc. Users (internal) would search the index data and be linked to the document image. I’d need the ability to assign user rights at the document level.
I could probably do something in Excel or Access, but due to my own limits I’m sure it would be crude. Does anyone know of affordable commercial software to accomplish this? Or maybe templates or plug-ins for Acrobat, Excel or Access?
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!
