Hi
can someone advise me on the issue of Copyright please...
At present, all authors who speak at one of our conferences or seminars are requested to complete and sign by hand a copyright form that states where copyright lies once the event has taken place, i.e. are they giving us consent to republish/sell the material after the event has taken place.
I was wondering whether (in Law) a digital certificate would carry the same weight? My line of thinking is that every author would be asked to complete a form which would be sent back to us electronically. I envisage the form would be either an online one or a PDF version. We would know it was from that author because only he would have the other half of the key.
I read the following on a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) site:
"Support for nonrepudiation. Digital certificates validate their users' identities, making it nearly impossible to later repudiate a digitally 'signed' transaction, such as a purchase made on a web site."
Any ideas?
