Hello,

I am writing to ask for advice. I am planning to take a course in librarianship, and have started volunteering in a library. I appreciate the experience I gain, but I realized that I don't enjoy so much the librarian part of it (e.g. the cataloging), which is of course the main part of my work. I have found more interesting dealing with inquiries, customer care, managing data, searching through the internet.

I came across information management course. How close is the information management related to librarianship? Are there any other opportunities after finishing it apart from libraries?

Many thanks,
