Hi Everyone
I run a one person library for a large listed financial services company in South Africa. It seems that in the near future I will be required to move my Library from one area of our building to another, more visible, part of the company, and that it will become a sort of "showpiece". The suggestion has already been made recently that perhaps the name "Library" is outdated and that we should find a new name for our collection of book, journals etc. and of course the service that I offer. My thoughts are that if the move has to happen then this might be a good opportunity to reposition the Library service within the company, and incorporate a name change/change of focus.
I don't want to rush into any decisions, but wonder if anyone else has been through this repositioning/renaming and can give me guidelines or advice on undertaking it. I don't believe that it is enough to simply change the name - I feel that the whole concept of information provision within the company has to be looked at and refined - but how do I start??!
I'm obviously searching the Internet for related articles but would appreciate feedback from anyone who has experience on this or can point me to any relevant literature.
Many thanks
Regards
