Software for managing downloaded web items

Some time in the last year I seem to remember coming across a review, ad or posting, possibly on FreePint, for some free/cheap software that puts downloaded web material or parts thereof into some sort of standard format and organises it somehow. Very vague I know, but any ideas? The nearest I can get is AskSam's SurfSaver but it's not that. I might just be imagining it but I'm sure if it exists someone out there will know what I'm on about.... :-)

Have a look at Amplify (http://www.amplify.com) and Pluck (http://www.pluck.com), both are FREE and powerful variations on a theme. Good luck!
