hi
I qualified with an MA in Dec 03 and have been struggling to find work in the field in which I worked hard to get into. I have been temping (currently data entry!) and after numerous interviews/applications am no closer to getting a job. I am signed up with all the agencies, receive the CILIP jobs paper etc. I am told that professional/semi-professional jobs are out of my league as I 'don't have the required experience' and that I am over qualified for the more menial jobs. I seem to be stuck in the middle with no hope of reaching a job at either end of the scale! Unfortunately I can't work in London and am confined to looking around the East Midlands as I have a daughter based in school here. Have any other graduates had similar probs? What we seem to need is a similar traineeship for graduates as is offered to pre-library school applicants to get us some experience as without this it seems nobody is willing to give us a chance
