I have recently completed a CILIP accredited postgraduate library qualification and have worked previously in academic libraries.
I wondered if anyone could answer my questions about job hunting.
Can anyone suggest some good training courses (short and cheap ideally!) both online or offline, that I could undertake in using content management systems (beginner) and/or cataloguing (at an intermediate-type level) that will be recognised by employers?
Many employers are asking for experience in using certain library management systems (particularly for cataloguing), or they say that this will be an advantage. I know that this is a long shot, but is there anyway I can "practice" with these systems? e.g. Unicorn
Is there anything else that anyone can suggest that will enhance my CV which I can undertake in the short term. |
