I should be interested to learn if you have any plans to give the
implications of the EU's PSI Directive an airing through the
FreePint newsletter, and whether you (and/or any of FreePint's
72,000 information researchers) are planning to contribute to the
online consultation process currently running.
As you know, the Directive is due to be implemented by July of
this year, and I have a feeling that the six-months window between
FoI and PSI will pass very quickly, leaving lots of people possibly
quite unprepared.
For details, have a look at HMSO's website and follow the links
to Public Sector Information and APPSI, the Advisory Panel (whose
annual report is certainly worth reading and drawing your members'
attention to). A draft of the Regulation is there alongside the
consultation document and background material.
