Hi,

I'm currently looking into copyright.

How can I find if, say, something is copyright free or not?

Is there some way to easily search if a book for example
is copyright free and in the public domain?

For that matter how can you search somewhere wether something is copyrighted?

If say a book in the America is copyright free, and in the public domain does that mean, it's also copyright free in the UK and rest of the world?

Thanks.

The Copyright Office provides databases to search for copyrights: http://www.copyright.gov/records/ For information on international copyright regulations, check out the "International Copyright" factsheet: http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl100.html
