I was intrigued by thie article enough to read it through, even though I have no idea what an SME is. All the other acronyms in the article were explained on first mention but not this one. To me, doing KM in the US (2 acronyms which I hope you all know), an SME is a Subject Matter Expert - someone who can contribute knowledge to a KM system. Obviously it is some sort of organization to you. Could someone please explain?

Thank you!

SME is a Small or Medium Enterprise. I believe the term was coined by the DTI at least 15 years ago.
