How long does laser printing last? We are looking to archive files for 30 years before final appraisal and wonder how long the labels of the files - which are produced on label stock using a laser print - will last. One web site is relevant http://www.wilhelm-research.com/ and the Australian Archives also has a guide at http://www.naa.gov.au/recordkeeping/rkpubs/advices/advice37.html . The consensus seems to be that a combination of factors - toner quality, paper quality, adhesive and storage - all impact permanence. Has anyone any suggestions? |
