Scanning and reversing negatives to positives

We have an Epson GT 15000 flatbed A3 scanner which whilst it works fine with documents I belatedly realised I really also need it to be able to flip negative images to positive so that I can scan and reverse photographic plates and negatives up to full plate or roughly A4 size. This does not appear to be an option with this model. Most transparency scanners seem to only only cope with small negatives. Our IT suppliers seem baffled and unable to come up with an afordable solution, perhaps no one else needs to scan such large negatives? Does anyone know of a software fix which we could buy or recommend an add on piece of equipment which will solve this. It only needs to cope with low volumes of scans.
