I have worked as a research consultant for the past few years for a large research/ analysis company, mainly conducting desk research and trade interviews and writing reports for clients.
As I want to move away from where I currently live and would like to be my own boss, I am thinking of going freelance. I have a couple of questions about this:
1. How do I start? Do I approach organisations directly? Where do I advertise my services? Can I expect to make a reasonable living?
2. I am particularly interested in applying my research and report-writing skills to the charity/ not for profit/ NGO sector - is there any call for this? If so, how do I go about getting work?
