Another query about tracking down old newspaper articles.

When he was a boy, my father in law was featured in a newspaper. We have copies of the article but not enough detail. We *think* it was March 1936 (there are clues to his age etc), and family rumour is that it was the (Scottish) Daily Express. We'd love to be able to buy a copy of the original paper, but first we have to establish the publication date. Where do we start?

All suggestions welcome.
