The classification of information into meaningful groups is a mission-critical requirement for effective information management.

Classification is the fundamental basis for making and implementing records management policies. ISO 15489 stipulates that every organisation should have a business classification scheme (BCS) reflecting the business functions and activities of the organisation.

Developing an effective functional BCS remains one of the greatest challenges facing information management professionals today.

This two-day course presents a proven, systematic method for developing a functional BCS, delivered by a working consultant with extensive practical experience in the field. The methodology, developed over 20 years, is fully compliant with the requirements laid down in ISO 15489 and provides a verifiable and consistent technique for achieving best practice in information classification and filing.
