The close of the year 2000 was an exciting time for FreePint as we jumped into the FreePint Bus and embarked on the FreePint Roadshow. This was a 900 mile trip to visit five university towns to meet information students and FreePint members.

The trip was sponsored by Factiva, the Dow Jones & Reuters company.
Each day was divided into two sessions:
- Afternoon session aimed at Students and Staff of the university
- Evening session in a local pub to meet other local FreePint members and Factiva customers
The dates and venues were:
- Loughborough Monday 6th November
- Sheffield Tuesday 7th November
- Newcastle Wednesday 8th November
- Manchester Thursday 9th November
- Aberystwyth Friday 10th November
For students we ran an afternoon session in each university.
All information students and staff were invited along for a short presentation by me about the new Student Bar and my experiences since graduating in Information Science, and a look at the products available from our sponsor Factiva (the Dow Jones and Reuters company). This was followed by nibbles and drinks and a chance to network and chat.
Local FreePint members were cordially invited to join us for a real FreePint in a local pub on the evenings of the Roadshow.
This was a chance to meet the FreePint team and to network with other FreePint members and Factiva customers in your region.
